Audax designs a 1960s Inspired Tree for Casa Loma's 100 Years of Christmas Celebration
December 2014 - Audax was one of ten Canadian designers invited by Casa Loma and Liberty Entertainment Group to design a decade-themed Christmas Tree for Casa Loma's 100 Years of Christmas celebrations. Taking cues from art, fashion and social attitudes of the late 1960s, Audax created a 1960s Pop Art inspired tree that featured over 1000 custom-designed rectangular ornaments in bright psychedelic colours which were laser-cut from sheets of acrylic. Audax's designers calculated the surface area of the entire tree to determine the exact quantity, scale and shapes of the customized pieces. Other participating designers for the castle's 100-year milestone holiday include Lynda Reeves, publisher of House and Home, fashion house Dsquared2, and event designer and TV personality, Caspar Haydar. All of the original installations will remain on display throughout the castle until January 2015. Check out the links below to see highlights.
