Featured in The Globe and Mail’s annual review of Best New Restaurants in Toronto in 2013, and awarded one of Canada’s Best New Restaurants in 2014 by Air Canada’s enRoute Magazine, The Chase, and its companion The Chase Fish & Oyster, were seen as two of the greatest restaurants to open in Toronto's financial district in over a decade.
Occupying the ground level and rooftop of a restored heritage building, Audax provided full interior design and architectural services for both restaurants, helping to establish a new benchmark for upscale dining in the city.
The interiors of The Chase break away from prevailing restaurant design trends, with each space drawing inspiration from various rooms of a high-end home. The design blends traditional and contemporary elements in a light colour palette, rather than the typical darker tones, to evoke a feeling of laid-back luxury. Light, soft fabrics create a striking juxtaposition against the glass and steel buildings that dominate Toronto's financial district.
